Aorangi (Rangitāne, Ngāti Kauwhata, Te Whakatōhea, Ngāti Porou, Ngai Tahu, Rongowhakaata) has held numerous roles within the Centre for Indigenous Psychologies over the past three years. She was previously a marking assistant and Tutor, marking for and tutoring into the core courses in the School of Psychology that explicitly focus on culture and Indigenous Psychologies (175.103, 175.210, 175.314).

Her most current position is as a Junior Research Officer within the Centre for Indigenous Psychologies, where she is involved with various research projects concerned with Māori health and wellbeing, te taiao (the natural environment), Māori knowledges, and Māori and indigenous methodologies.

Aorangi recently completed a Master of Science with a sub-endorsement in health psychology this year (2023) with Massey University. Her rangahau was a strengths-based kaupapa Māori research project that explored affirmative social media use among rangatahi Māori.

She is passionate about te reo Māori, Māori wellbeing, te taiao, and decolonising methodologies.
